What Happened?

In September 2024, a targeted cyberattack on Summit Medical Group, PLLC computer systems potentially accessed files that may have contained names, contact and demographic information, medical record numbers, provider names, dates and facilities of service, treatment and prescription information, health insurance information, and/or Social Security numbers.

The case is Harris, et al. v. Summit Medical Group, PLLC, Case No. 2-119-25, in the Circuit Court for Knox County, Tennessee. Summit Medical denies wrongdoing.

The claim deadline is November 4, 2026. Opt-out and objection deadlines are October 20, 2026. A Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for November 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CT.

What if total claims exceed the Summit Medical $500,000 fund?
Any cash payment may be decreased on a pro rata basis if more than $500,000 is claimed by eligible class members. Attorneys’ fees (up to $575,000) and class representative service awards are paid by Summit Medical separately from that cash-claims cap.
