Ashley Furniture Industries and its related brands — Nectar, DreamCloud, and Siena — were sued after consumers discovered that the mattresses contained fiberglass as a fire-retardant material in the inner sock covering the foam. When mattress covers were removed for washing or other reasons, fiberglass particles could escape and contaminate the home, causing skin irritation, eye irritation, and respiratory issues that were extremely difficult to remediate.
The presence of fiberglass in consumer mattresses became a major controversy as countless homeowners reported their homes being contaminated after opening mattress covers, sometimes requiring professional cleaning costing thousands of dollars. Ashley agreed to pay $9 million to settle the class action.
How Much Will I Actually Get?
Eligible claimants receive a voucher toward a new mattress purchase — no cash option is available. No proof of purchase is required for the base voucher. Possible pro rata cash may also be available for documented contamination costs. Deadline is July 17, 2026 — act soon.
