What Happened?

Plaintiffs sued Disney, Google, and DirecTV alleging anticompetitive conduct related to bundled pricing of YouTube TV and DirecTV streaming live TV services. The case is captioned in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California as Case No. 5:22-cv-07317-EJD.

The defendants agreed to a $50,000,000 settlement fund administered by Epiq Global at OnlineTVSettlement.com. Class members who paid for qualifying subscriptions during the class period may file claims for pro rata cash payments proportional to how long they subscribed.

The settlement covers subscribers who paid for YouTube TV or DirecTV streaming products from April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2026. This includes customers who subscribed under the DirecTV Now and AT&T TV Now brand names before later rebranding.

Defendants deny wrongdoing but agreed to settle to resolve the litigation. The settlement notice and claim form are available on the official administrator website. Class counsel and the court reviewed the settlement terms before claims opened to the public.

If you are unsure whether your subscription qualifies, review the official settlement website FAQ or contact the administrator listed on OnlineTVSettlement.com.

How Much Will I Actually Get?

Eligible class members receive a pro rata cash payment proportional to the length of their qualifying subscription. No receipts or billing records are required. Claimants self-certify eligibility under penalty of perjury. The actual per-person amount depends on how many valid claims are filed from the $50,000,000 settlement fund after attorneys' fees, costs, and any service awards to class representatives. Longer subscriptions generally receive a larger share, but the final amount cannot be calculated until after the deadline when all claims are counted.

All eligible claimants receive the same flat amount.
