What Happened?

Between May 27 and May 31, 2023, cybercriminals gained unauthorized access to the MOVEit Transfer file-transfer software Ernst & Young LLP used to handle certain Bank of America data, resulting in potential access to PII that Bank of America had provided to EY.

The proposed settlement is in Morris v. Progress Software Corporation et al., Case No. 1:24-cv-11807-ADB (D. Mass.). Defendants deny wrongdoing. Claims against Progress Software Corporation, the MOVEit licensor, have not been resolved.
