In May 2023, hackers exploited a vulnerability in the widely used MOVEit file-transfer software, affecting organizations worldwide. GRIPA — a Rochester, New York-area independent practice association — was among the entities whose systems were compromised, potentially exposing member and patient data.
The lawsuit alleges GRIPA failed to adequately protect sensitive personal and health information. GRIPA denies wrongdoing but agreed to a $2,150,000 settlement fund to resolve the claims. Notices were sent to nearly 280,000 potentially affected individuals.
Class members may file using a Claimant ID and Password at claimsettlementportal.com/gripa, or submit a paper claim form postmarked by the deadline.
