What Happened?

Illinois BIPA requires companies to obtain informed consent before collecting biometric identifiers. Plaintiffs allege HireVue's video interview platform collected voiceprints and/or facial geometry from Illinois interviewees without proper BIPA compliance. HireVue denies the allegations.

The parties agreed to a $3,750,000 settlement fund. Each valid claimant receives an equal share of the net fund after fees and costs — estimated at roughly $150 per person, subject to adjustment.

Notices were sent to identified class members. The portal also accepts claims from people who never received notice if they can prove a qualifying Illinois interview.
