The inaugural Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix in November 2023 faced significant disruption when a manhole cover came loose during Free Practice 1, damaging Carlos Sainz's Ferrari and forcing a lengthy track repair. Free Practice 2 was subsequently cancelled, leaving ticket holders who paid premium prices for the session without the experience they purchased.
Ticket holders filed the class action Diep v. Liberty Media Corp. alleging they were not adequately compensated for the cancelled FP2 session. Liberty Media and the event organizers agreed to pay $3 million to settle the claims while denying liability.
How Much Will I Actually Get?
Payments are pro rata based on the total number of valid FP2 ticket holder claims filed against the $3 million fund. File at LVGP2023TicketSettlement.com by August 27, 2026 with proof of your FP2 ticket purchase.
