Nutricost Magnesium Glycinate Settlement
Nutricost, one of the most popular supplement brands on Amazon, is paying $1.835 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging its Magnesium Glycinate capsules were mislabeled. Consumers who purchased the 240-capsule or 120-capsule Nutricost Magnesium Glycinate product between February 2021 and June 2026 allege the supplement was marketed as containing 420 mg of magnesium "as magnesium glycinate" but that claim was inaccurate. Eligible purchasers can receive a cash Award Unit worth up to $19.95 with no receipt or proof of purchase required for a base payment.

The lawsuit, Cohen et al. v. eSupplements, LLC d/b/a Nutricost, Case No. 2:23-cv-06387, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Plaintiffs alleged eSupplements sold Magnesium Glycinate supplements labeled as containing 420 mg of magnesium "as magnesium glycinate" per serving when the actual product allegedly did not conform to that labeling.
Plaintiffs argued consumers paid a premium specifically because of the magnesium glycinate designation, associated with better absorption than cheaper forms like magnesium oxide. Nutricost denies wrongdoing.
