From July 17 to July 27, 2024, a targeted cyberattack on Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union computer systems resulted in unauthorized access to files containing private information. Those files may have included names, Social Security numbers, financial information, credit card numbers, and debit card numbers for approximately 9,567 people.
The lawsuit is Joanne Vannier and James Ciuffo v. Parks Heritage Federal Credit Union, Case No. EF2025-73702, pending in the Supreme Court for Warren County, New York. Plaintiffs allege Parks Heritage failed to adequately protect private information. Parks Heritage denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle.
The settlement lets class members choose Cash Payment A (documented losses up to $4,500, including lost time) or Cash Payment B ($75 with no proof), and separately claim two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete. Online claimants may elect PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle instead of a paper check.
Opt-out and objection deadlines are August 7, 2026. The Final Approval Hearing is November 2, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Payments distribute after final approval and resolution of any appeals.

How Much Will I Actually Get?
Class members must choose Cash Payment A or Cash Payment B (not both), and may separately claim credit monitoring. Cash Payment A: up to $4,500 for documented unreimbursed out-of-pocket losses incurred between July 17, 2024 and September 8, 2026, including identity theft or fraud losses, credit report/monitoring/repair fees, freezing or unfreezing credit, professional fees, ID replacement, and postage, plus up to four hours of lost time at $25 per hour (maximum $100) within the $4,500 cap — documentation required. Cash Payment B: a $75 alternative cash payment with no documentation required. Credit monitoring: two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete with $1 million financial fraud insurance, available to all class members with no documentation. The $4,500 figure is a per-claimant documented-loss cap, not an aggregate class fund.
