Equinox, Inc. has agreed to a $685,000 settlement resolving McHugh v. Equinox, Inc. and Carter v. Equinox, Inc. (Supreme Court of the State of New York, Albany County) over a Data Incident on or about April 29, 2024. If Equinox sent you a notice that your Private Information may have been accessed, you can claim cash benefits and credit monitoring through the official settlement website before October 23, 2026.

- Equinox, Inc. sent you a notice that your Private Information may have been impacted by the April 29, 2024 Data Incident
- You have the Notice ID and Confirmation Code from that notice to file online
- You submit a valid Claim Form online or by mail by October 23, 2026
- You did not validly exclude yourself by September 23, 2026
Notice ID and Confirmation Code from your mailed settlement notice are required for the online claim form. Documented monetary loss claims need receipts, statements, credit-monitoring invoices, or similar proof of out-of-pocket expenses. Pro rata cash and credit monitoring options require selecting the appropriate benefit on the Claim Form and attesting to eligibility as instructed on the official site.

A proposed Settlement has been reached in McHugh v. Equinox, Inc., Index No. 911677-24, and Carter v. Equinox, Inc., Index No. 901198-25, pending in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Albany County. The cases concern potential unauthorized access to and acquisition of Private Information from Equinox systems on or about April 29, 2024. Impacted information may have included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, health insurance information, medical treatment or diagnosis information, medication-related information, financial information, provider name, and MRN/patient ID. Equinox agreed to fund Settlement Class Member Benefits, attorneys' fees and costs, service awards, and administration costs. No benefits are paid unless the Court grants final approval and the Settlement becomes final; the fairness hearing is set for November 12, 2026.

How Much Will I Actually Get?
From the $685,000 settlement fund: up to $5,000 for documented monetary losses, or an estimated $100 pro rata cash payment (final amount depends on the number of valid claims), plus up to 3 years of one-bureau credit monitoring with $1M identity theft insurance. Documented-loss claims require receipts, statements, or other proof.
