Bestway, a manufacturer of inflatable hot tubs and portable spa products, issued a safety recall on certain AirJet and HydroJet spa pumps after reports that the pumps could malfunction and pose safety hazards to users. The recall affected a significant number of consumers who had purchased these portable spa products for home use.
A class action settlement was reached requiring Bestway to compensate affected consumers who completed the recall process or who experienced pump failures. Some class members who received replacement pumps through the recall also automatically receive a one-year warranty extension.
