Fanatics, the largest sports merchandise retailer in the United States operating as the official online store for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and hundreds of college teams, was sued for allegedly misleading customers about its shipping costs. Fanatics prominently advertised "Free Shipping" on its websites but then charged customers a separate "handling fee" at checkout — effectively charging for shipping under a different label.
