What Happened?

The lawsuit A.B., et al. v. Google LLC alleged that Google and its ad subsidiary AdMob collected personal information from children under 13 — including device identifiers, location data, and behavioral data used for advertising — without obtaining verifiable parental consent required by COPPA.

Plaintiffs alleged apps distributed through Google Play served targeted ads to children using this improperly collected data. Google denies all wrongdoing.
