What Happened?

In March 2025, Urban One detected a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems. Forensic investigators confirmed that unauthorized actors accessed certain files containing personal information that could be used to identify, contact, or locate specific individuals. Urban One notified affected individuals and offered initial identity protection resources after the breach. The federal class action lawsuit, Gomian Konneh v. Urban One, Inc., Case No. 25-cv-1460-PX, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The parties reached a $675,000 settlement to resolve the case without trial. Under the agreement, Urban One also committed to data security improvements to reduce the risk of future incidents.
